Notes from the Road

Notes from the Road is an award-winning travel blog by writer and photographer Erik Gauger. Online since 1999, the site features long-form travel writing, large-format 4x5 photography, and hand-painted watercolor sketches from destinations across North America, Europe, the Caribbean, and beyond.

Gauger won the Travel Blogger of the Year award from Terra Incognita. Forbes called it the best-looking travel blog they had seen, and Apple featured the site during its iPhone X launch. Topics range from cultural history and wildlife to environmental issues and the meaning of travel itself.
