Baking soda not only miraculously makes your oven creations incredibly fluffy, but it has 1001 other uses for home that you'd probably never thought of. Baking soda can be and is a non-toxic and cheap cleaning product that will help you with a variety of household issues.  It is the final product of sodium carbonate dissolved in carbon dioxide rich solution and is considered the second most popular natural cleaning product at home after vinegar.

For example, baking soda can be used for carpet cleaning and carpet refreshing. Just let it stay for at least 15 minutes after sprinkling on the carpet, and for stains, mist with hot water and even scrub with a brush for more persistent ones. Even if you sprinkle the bottom of the pail and then, after you put a new bag in, sprinkle again, you can avoid bad garbage odour. Food containers also can be rinsed with baking soda and hot water solution and you will have the same refreshing effect.

Clean not only surfaces by sprinkling baking soda on a damp cloth and then rinsing with water, but also remove grease stains with it. Grease spills on the floor, for example, can be removed by sprinkling baking soda on them and then wiping with a warm, damp cloth. You can remove scuff marks the same way. Another usage is when you burn food in the bottom of pots, you can sprinkle it with baking soda and add hot water, then let it soak overnight. Moreover, use soda to clean your silver jewellery and silverware. Use three parts baking soda to one part water and rub onto the silver surface, then rinse with water and dry. You can even clean your combs and hairbrushes by putting them in a pot full of warm water and baking soda and leave them soak overnight for best effect.

Baking soda can help you unclog your drains with ¼ cup weekly, afterwards just rinse with hot water. It can help "bury" litterbox and wet dog odour, even cigarette odour from ashtrays by just putting some soda on the bottom of ashtrays. Apply a solution of baking soda and warm water on children's toys to clean them or even put some baking soda in the laundry machine along with the laundry detergent to make clothes even fresher.

All in all, use baking soda for cleaning safe pretty much anything in your house. From carpet cleaning to silver cleaning, from odour removing to stain removing, it will help you clean and refresh the whole house. Do not underestimate the power of this natural product, use it to the fullest.
