Resolutions are meant to be broken, ditch the billions of other people who give up on their resolutions every year.  Just do what you love with people who love to do the same things as you,  get together to get fit, enjoy a hobby, advance your career, and have fun!  Who could give up on that?

Try these instead

Be Active!

Do something every day to be active, it doesn’t mean you need to go to the gym everyday and pump iron.  Get out and go for a walk over lunch with your colleagues, take the stairs instead of the elevator, or play outside with your kids.  It doesn’t have to be a big thing, just do something

Limit your intake of Sugar and Sodium!

Sugar increases triglycerides, cholesterol and insulin which can hurt your immune system.  But don’t fall in to the splenda, saccharin and aspartame traps.  These is research to show these are carcinogens and will cause a host of other problems.  Try using Stevia instead, but try different brands since they all taste a little bit different.  Always look at the labels of the food you are eating, foods with high sodium will cause you to look bloated and increase your blood pressure, making your heart work harder.

Get a good night sleep!

With the busy lives we lead we are committing less and less time for sleep and filling our days with other activities instead.  60% of adults report having sleep problems.  This is creating a big problem in todays society.  It has been shown to decrease motivation, concentration, energy, cause weight gain, and can effect memory and our moods.  So shift your priorities and put sleep near the top so you have the energy to achieve your goals for the rest of your life.

Stress less!

Now this seems like a lofty goal, we all have stress and tension almost every day.  In the short term stress give us an energy boost, but when it becomes chronic it keeps us in a constant state of fight or flight.  This chronicity can lead to insomnia, depression and other mental disorders.  So you need to learn how to deal with stress and not let it get on your nerves.  You need an outlet so that stress doesn’t build up.  Everyone handles this differently and for some physical exercise is their outlet while others need a support system of friends and family to share their troubles with. 

Get your spine checked!

This one helps with every other one mentioned above!  Every cell tissue and organ in your body is innervated by your nervous system.  If the information being sent from your brain, down your spine and out your nerves is inhibited, anything in your body can be affected.  If you want to know about any specifics just ask below and I, your Fort Collins Chiropractor, will go into details for you!
