There isn't a carpet that haven't been a victim to a nasty spill or stubborn stain. A basic rule states that spills should be cleaned immediately in order to be avoided set-in stains. However, removing spilled liquid from a carpet may not be as easy as it sounds, mainly because liquids tend to seep down to the carpet pad, where they can be very difficult to remove and clean. Fortunately, you don't have to spend a lot of money on commercial stain removers, as there are many household products that can be used to make your own carpet stain removers. If you are interested to find out how you can get rid of all stains that ruin the appearance of your carpet, check out the tips below.
Mix 3 tablespoons of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of baking soda in a small bowl. Use a spoon to stir the mixture until the baking soda dissolves, then add 2 cups of water and pour the solution into a spray bottle.
Spray the carpet stain with the solution. Shake the bottle of cleaning solution well before each use, as advised by cleaners East Sheen, so the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
Scrub the stain remover into the stain using a soft-bristled brush and let it sit on the carpet for about 10 minutes.
Blot away the stain and residue using a cloth dampened in lukewarm water.
Once the stain has been removed, blot the wet area dry with a clean cloth.
Place a cleaning cloth over the stain and press it down with a hand or foot to absorb as much of the spilled liquid as possible.
Make a cleaning solution of ½ cup of baking soda and ¼ cup of Borax. This powdered solution will draw any remaining stain out of the carpet.
Apply a generous amount of the mixture over the stain, so the stain is completely covered. Let the powder sit on the stain for about an hour, then vacuum it up.
For stains and spills, that you cannot remove on your own, consider hiring cleaners East Sheen. These professionals will do everything to get those blemishes out of your carpet.
