The holidays are filled with different scents! From baking cookies (yum!) to cooking (maybe not so yummy), our homes are filled with all sorts of smells. You can take simple steps to keeping your home smelling fresh and clean!
Start by grabbing those dryer sheets. They aren’t just for the dryer anymore! An inexpensive way to that freshness is by adding a sheet to your drawers and closet. Keep clothing smelling clean by adding a dryer sheet to the pocket. Just replace every month. No need for expensive sachets!
Fabric refreshers are very useful for those items you can’t launder. Spray your curtains, sofa, chairs, etc. to maintain a pleasant smell. Be sure to test an inconspicuous area first to make sure it won’t bleed.
Add a scented vacuum bag and/or filter. Carpet powders can ruin a vacuum’s motor, so avoid at all costs. You can find these at the grocery or big-box stores.
Do some laundry! The clean scent of your laundry detergent and/or fabric softener will waft through your home keeping it light and airy.
Skipped your house cleaning this week? Plug-in refreshers are fuss-free and work miracles. Try my favorite, febreze Noticeables.
Cooking with garlic or other lingering odors? Keep a lemongrass candle ready for these occasions. It will counter-act the odor and leave your kitchen fabulously fresh!
Lastly, keep it simple. Some fragrances can be overwhelming. Stick to earthy scents like ‘fresh meadows’ or ‘clean linen’. They do the job and it is a fragrance all can enjoy!
