Knowing when to ask and when to be silent

During the last few weeks I have been spending quite a bit of time at one of the local hospitals. No I am not a strange person with nothing better to do, the fact is that my fiance's mother is not doing very well and the family (of which I am part of) have all been there to show support and that we love her.
One of the first things that I notice is the fact that the nurses have a wide variety of scrubs that they come to work in and considering the fact that I think of scrubs as one of the most comfortable forms of clothing (other that pj's) that is available today, I can't help but wonder if they do their shopping at http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/.
Certain departments tend to be strict as to the medical scrubs that they use, while others have the flexibility to choose their own colors and designs. Spending time in the hospital can generally be a boring exercise, but I try to find things to do to help me pass the time. If I did not think that some of these nurses might think I was strange, I might actually consider asking them where they do their shopping. You never know, I may actually be able to point them in the right direction.
