Where is your next family vacation? Do you prefer a tropical setting or perhaps a big city destination is more your style. How about a theme park? The choices are endless and the benefits of traveling together are priceless. When traveling with young children and teenagers it is important to choose a vacation that provides activities for all age groups. Once you decide where to go then it’s time to check pricing, compare hotels, and buy that plane ticket! Here are a few family travel ideas to get you thinking:
Disney - You just mention the word and people smile. Disney is synonymous with Family Travel. Disney Destinations are always top quality and I've never met an employee that was anything but polite and helpful. How refreshing! If you've never taken a Disney cruise then you may want to consider that for your next family vacation. The cruise line makes sure that both parents and children are happy which makes for a fun and relaxing family getaway.
Hawaii - Looking for a tropical getaway? Then Hawaii’s got you covered. It offers Sun, Sand, and Sea for a truly memorable experience. If you want a lot of action then Honolulu is a good choice but if you want a combination of action and relaxation then Maui is a great destination. Shopping and dining in Lahaina is a great way to spend your time. With a beach nearby kids never seem to be bored.
Cruise - Are you planning a family reunion? Cruising has become a popular choice for large family gatherings. With so many activities to choose from there seems to be something to suit everyone’s taste. Onboard Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas there are so many activities available that you probably won't have time to participate in all of them. It has 18 decks and can accommodate almost 6300 passengers! It has an open-air park with trees and hanging gardens, a boardwalk-style area with a merry-go-round, and a pool that changes into a stage for high-diving shows.
Beach - We only have to drive about 2 hours and we're at the Oregon Coast. Seaside is a great coastal town because not only does it have a long beach with a promenade for jogging, strolling or biking, but it also has a very cute downtown area with lots of shops and an incredible fudge store called Tom 'n' Larry's Candies. Scrumptious!
America - You wouldn't be an American if you didn't pack the kids in the car and take a good old fashioned road trip. Nothing says family togetherness like a road trip! We've visited Yellowstone, Yosemite, Lummi Island (our kids favorite destination) where we stayed in a Yurt, and Idaho. The kids may balk at first and "pretend" they don't want to go but I'm pretty sure they are really looking forward to it! Actually what we have found is that once we get on the road and stop at our various destinations they seem to enjoy the trip and each other. Ah family togetherness!
