COMMENT & BEST WISHES FOR HAPPY HOLIDAYS & A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR

The past year certainly provided changes & challenges to the Insurance Industries! Many of these changes & challenges, like the Health Care Reform Acts, will continue to provide controversy and division among constituencies throughout the coming year.
Our hope is that whatever the outcomes, we as a country will regain a focus on what is good for the individuals who make up this Great Nation. One of the most important historical documents, The Declaration of Independence, began the 2nd paragraph with incredible wording:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."
I believe that in a mature and wealthy country like ours, access to quality health care is part of - and instrumental to - "... life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". While we have always found the resources to fight wars - most of which were more than justified - we should be able to find it in our capacities to provide for those who cannot provide for themselves!
Whether the Health Care Reform moves forward or not, with whatever degree of governmental encroachment, I firmly believe that to remain a Great Nation, that we "the governed" must be strong - in Health, Mind & Spirit!
The words "self- evident" & "unalienable rights" were remarkable in 1776 and they are now! These words and the document set the stage for establishing the potential that "all men are created equal".
Let's take further steps to bringing these words into reality! Somehow - Someway let's provide quality Health Care and the ability to achieve Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness to all of our Great Nation!
