As a child, I was lucky enough to extensively travel the world with my family. These childhood experiences infected me with a disease which nobody regrets catching whilst on holiday: the travel bug. As I grew older, I began to embark on my own solo journeys across the world. I loved the freedom and excitement of arriving in a new country or city without any idea of where I would stay or where I would go. My travel philosophy is to have a minimal plan and maximum freedom – something which can become frightening at times! I have always considered the backpacker to be a modern-day flâneur – travelling to a different country without a goal or purpose.  I say without goal or purpose because, essentially, we are there for the experience of an exotic culture, rather than for business or utility. 

As much as I love to travel, I love to discuss travelling, as it brings back all those priceless memories. Hence, I decided to start a blog about my travel experiences, which has a twofold purpose. Firstly, for me to enjoy discussing my experiences with other like-minded travelers, and secondly, to provide information and guidance (and hopefully inspiration) to those who are thinking of going travelling for the first time.
