Douglas Jackson has a strong interest in business and business relations.  Mr. Jackson’s interest in business began early on in his life.  He first dreamed of starting his own business when he was just entering his teenage years.  In high school, he took his first business class.  Mr. Jackson went on to received his bachelor’s degree in economics and business from Colorado State University, where he was financial officer of the Colorado State Elections Committee, Chair of the Legal Services Advisory Board, and a recipient of a level II REAL Leadership award.

Currently, Mr. Jackson is studying law at Stetson University, which is known for its number 1 ranking in trial advocacy and its number 3 ranking in research and writing.  Mr. Jackson chose to study law because he feels that a good businessperson must understand both law and business.  Business has many legal concepts and theories that business persons simply do not understand.  Therefore, Mr. Jackson authors his articles to help those who are interested in starting, managing, or franchising a business, and to help them better understand the laws that govern business actions and transactions.  There are too many business books that conveniently forget to pay due concern to the laws behind the business.  This could potentially get many businesspersons into legal trouble.  Mr. Jackson's articles are authored in hope to better educate the reader to avoid such legal trouble.
