Ever since Tata Nano has been launched, it has created buzz in the automobile industry in India. At first it created news for being the tiniest car launched ever with an even tinier price and now, the car is again in the headlines for making an impressive sales record. In November 2011, Tata Nano has registered remarkable sales of 6,401 units. When Nano was initially launched, the car maker had a target of 20,000 units per month. However, the circumstances got a little awry and Nano managed to sell only 3,000 to 4,000 units per month on average. But with the new sales figure for November, things are certainly looking better for the Nano. It seems that Ratan Tata’s dream to put every Indians on four wheels can be true soon. Despite of the gloomy economic climate, the Nano managed to clock over 6,401 units. For last couple of months, Tata has been using different sales strategies to boost the sale of Nano and it looks all the hard works have paid off for Tata. The most interesting part is, exactly a year ago, Nano saw its worst monthly sales record with 509 units. Following this disappointing sales record, Tata came up with several corrective measures like a 4 year/60,000 Km warranty, zero down payment schemes and a INR 99 month maintenance package, etc. Plus, Tata recently launched a completely overhauled 2012 Tata Nano that has further contributed to boost up the sales record for this car. The 2012 Nano is faster and more responsive and has a completely revamped interior compared to its predecessor. With these tweaks and changes, the future of Nano certainly looks promising. It would be interesting to see how the Nano performs in the coming months and we will eagerly look forward to it.
