Dulaang Kalay, the student theater organization of Kalayaan College, brings one of London's longest-running plays to Manila.
Stephen Mallatratt's "The Woman In Black", a ghost play based on the novel by Susan Hill (it has also been made into a movie headlined by Daniel Radcliffe), will star stage veterans Jeremy Domingo and Reb Atadero, with direction by William Elvin Manzano.
As one of the world's very few horror stories told on stage, "The Woman In Black" tells the tragic story of Arthur Kipps through a performance with his hired Actor. As they re-enact the strange occurrences during Kipps' short stay in Eel Marsh House, they soon discover that a malevolent figure refuses to be exorcised--and has returned to haunt them.
The creative team includes Manzano as director, with original music by Janine Santos, lighting design by Meliton Roxas, sound design by Alden Acosta, technical direction by Nina Bedruz and set decoration by Nissi Gatan
The production team has Gabe Ongkiko and Nicole Nequinto as production managers, Pao Cantiller as stage manager and Tim Villareal as stagehand.
Performances will be in Teatrino, Greenhills Promenade, on August 31, 2012. For tickets, call Gabe Ongkiko 0905-4283371.
