The Myth about Taxes Romney accused President Obama of raising corporate tax rates during his presidency, while Congressional Republicans accuse him of raising taxes on the Middle Class.  Neither is true. "There's been lots of corporate tax cutting under Obama, but no corporate rate tax increases," said Robert McIntyre, director of the Center for Tax Justice. "Romney may be thinking Obama would like to do that, but since he says he wants to do the opposite, I just don't know how Romney could come up with this."  But Romney and Congress are not alone in their claims about President Obama and taxes.  Anti-tax activists (The Tea Party) are equally ignorant of the facts.   When asked whether taxes are higher under Barack Obama, more than two-thirds said taxes are higher today.  Bruce Bartlett , former domestic policy adviser to President Ronald Reagan and  Treasury official under President George H.W.
