We all know by now that being able to escape side control is pivotal to your BJJ game. Think of side control as "home base" for your opponent on top. Side control is the position where they can establish control and begin the offensive attack to achieve the goal of submission. You must take the time to learn, drill and practice side control escapes so that you never let your opponent feel comfortable in "home base". If you're a part of the BJJ community then you probably are familiar with Roy Dean. I own three of his DVDs "Purple Belt Requirements", "Blue Belt Requirements", and "No Gi Essentials". All three of Roy Dean's DVDs come highly recommended from me, they have been an asset to my game. Having the ability to see techniques whenever you want is definitely a benefit to BJJ development.
