This large 7-ton crane from Granville Island's working days in now on display on the northeast end of the island. It was originally built in the 1920s to serve the industries on the island that used the waters of False Creek to transport their goods. It's no longer operational, but is an impressive display next to the Emily Carr University of Art and Design. The gray overcast sky finally gave way at the end of the day to small patches of blue. For great skies from around the world, be sure to visit Skywatch Friday. -- Margy
