Guest blogging. Do you ever really hear anything negative about it? I haven't come across anything that shows me or informs me that guest blogging may be a bad thing for a website. With that said, does that mean that all sites need guest blogging? I don't think so at all. I think it can be helpful, but it truly depends on your site. Here are some positives about guest blogging: increase in traffic to the site new readers due to new topics or even writing style higher number of inbound and outbound links fresh and updated, unique content more often These are all very important pieces to what guest blogging offers a website owner. Let's be honest, it's not very easy to write a new pieces of content on a consistent basis for extended periods of time. Especially for those who work, have families, have businesses, and have every other difficult and multitasking-needed "hat" their wear in their lives. I know this is true for me, but that doesn't mean that I want to have guest bloggers on my site. It truly comes down to the kind of website you have, the purpose of your website, and the kind of content you wish to offer. For example, my website is a personal blog that I only add my own writings to. I have seen plenty of guest blog posts that would fit perfectly on my site, but I don't want to add any words that are not my own. I wish I had more time to write more pages and add new posts to my site. Someday I may have the time to write more, but until then I will add my posts when I can do so. I am an exception to the rule and have no need for guest blogs with my words being my main focus. Many other sites may not have the same focus as I do. Other sites wish to share their thoughts and the thoughts of others as widely spread as they can. This means guest blogs. Letting others write posts on your blogs means you get all the above benefits every time a new guest post goes up. This can help your website grow quickly. My website may not go up in rank as quickly as others, but it will go up with my own words being the cause. Whichever way you choose to go, choose whatever fits your site, and your traffic should flow happily.
