(News) France-based Compagnie des Alpes (CDA) announced that its consolidated sales in the first half of 2011-2012 amounted to €394 million, an increase of 8.3% (4.9% on a comparable basis). Sales from ski areas, the group's core activity for H1 2011-2012 were very good, and rose by 3.8% to €328 million, after an increase of 3% in H1 2010/2011Leisure-park activity in the first half is relatively insignificant, for the Group and represents 15% of annual park business. Half-year sales amounted to €65 million, an increase of 38%, mainly due to the consolidation of Futuroscope. Adjusted for the consolidation effects, like-for-like growth came to nearly 10%. H1 got off to a good start, underpinned by parks open during the Toussaint holidays—mainly for Halloween but also boosted by the success of the Christmas trees at Parc Astérix this year.
