The Gantz mechs come under fire by a giant cannon as they continue their advance on the tower. You beat big mechs with an even bigger cannon. Summary: The Gantz mechs spot a giant cannon emplacement near the tower they are trying to get to. The cannon aims are fires again and destroys a few more mechs along with a number of buildings behind them. Kurono #1 is stuck in his mech and then he sees Fra and Tae in Fra's flying car circling nearby. Nishi is in another mech yelling at the aliens to bring it on. Sakurai maxes out his psychic powers and screams that he's invincible, but the cannon aims right at him and destroys his mech in a bright flash. Back in the Tokyo hotel room, the leaders behind the Gantz offensive is watching the battle and getting a little concerned. Their plans to detonate the mech when enough of them make it to the tower. An underling runs in yelling that they got hacked and is followed by a large group of kamikaze bug aliens. The leaders screen for people to teleport them a suit or transmit them out of there, but the bug aliens explode. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Looks like the asshole hacker leaders behind the Gantz hacking got what they deserved and in turn got hacked by the aliens. If they are killed by the bug aliens, it means that the Gantz mechs aren't in danger of having their self-destruct activated. Even if that danger is gone though, the Gantz mechs still have to content with a big honking cannon guarding the tower, and being such large slow targets without ranged weapons of their own, the Gantz mechs are easy picking for the cannon. It looks like Sakurai might have been blasted at the end, but I'm hoping that he survives due to his psychic powers. If not, at least have been take out the cannon with one last psychokinetic blast. On another note, I loved how Nishi was like "bring it on!!!!" despite the dangers. The guy is nuts, but he is useful in these extreme situations. We still have the Kurono #1 and Tae drama and with Tae now flying around near Kurono's mech. Fra had better steer her car out of the way or they might get obliterated by the cannon.
