Trackstar Laxative is proud to present our first sponsored show tonight at The Mink Backroom. We've been involved in the planning and development of other shows, but we are official sponsors of this one. The line-up represents some of Houston's best up and coming hip hop and R&B artists and we're extremely excited to be associated with it. Fullmetal F dot, who put together most aspects of the show, will be headlining, accompanied by his live band, The Bandtastic Four. Several weeks ago at the last Turnin' Headz, this dude, backed by the aforementioned band, had one of the best performances I've seen in a while. Here's a video of that performance:In addition to Fullmetal F dot, there will be live-ass performances by Lee-Lonn, Marx De Lux and CHANE. Lee-Lonn will be supplying the R&B portion of the event, and though I haven't seen him live, I have heard very good things. Shea Serrano, the often humorous Houston Press hip hop critic, made the following comments about him:"Man, this kid can sing... His voice sounds like what Scarlett Johansson's skin looks like... Can a man get another man pregnant just by singing? Because that might've just happened."Marx De Lux is an MC from Detroit, who now calls Houston home. We first saw him perform at the S.P.E.A.K. Concert last November where he delivered one of the night's best performances. Not an easy feat given the amount of talent that performed that night including: Kyle Hubbard, A.D.D., Twenty Eleven, iLL Liad & Jon Black. Lux recently told us he has been working on his stage presence/performance. So if it was really good last November, we're left to assume that he'll be on some Tony the Tiger GRRRRREEEAATT shit tonight! CHANE, is an amazing artist and a favorite of ours. We conducted a lengthy and ridiculously interesting interview with the MC several months back. His live performances are hands down some of the livest and best done in the underground scene today.
