March 10th is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD). Today (March 9th) marks the fourth annual Rock the Red Pump Campaign. It’s a nationwide initiative to raise awareness about the increasing impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls.Did you know?HIV/AIDS is still the 5th leading cause of death in women in the United States, ages 25-44. Every 9.5 minutes, someone in the US will be infected with HIV. There are more than 1 million adults and adolescents in the United States living with HIV. Approximately one-fifth of them (21%) do not know that they have been infected.
