Kio is taken back to the Vagan home colony and is given a chance to roam the city. More like an esteemed guest than a prisoner of war. Like his grandfather, Kio is pretty good with the ladies. Summary: Zanald takes Kio back to the Vagan home colony where Kio is handed over the Ezelcant. Ezelcant takes Kio back to his palatial residence where Kio is treated quite well due to the fact he resembles Ezelcant's deceased son. The next day, Ezelcant sends Kio out to explore the Vagan city to see what life is like for the people. Kio walks around town but then gets his bag (given by Ezelcant containing a communicator and credit card) snatched by a street kid. Kio gives chase but ends up falling down some stairs. A young man takes the bag back from the street kid and gives it back to Kio, and the man takes Kio back to his home to patch Kio's scratches from the tumble. The young man, named Din and his sick sister Lu lives together. Lu is very interested in talking to Kio because she's usually stuck at home due to her sickness and wants to know about the outside world. Kio doesn't have much to say because he doesn't want to reveal he is from Earth, but Lu is happy to have someone to talk to. After Lu goes back to sleep, Din reveals that Lu doesn't have long to live due to the magnetic storm sickness that has afflicted many in the Vagan colony. Din shows contempt for Earthlings for having the good life while the Vagans live in poor conditions, and he tells Kio not to come back again because getting Lu's hopes up will only make she feel worse at the end. Lu wakes up and states that she wants to feel the joys of life even if she knows she's going to die soon and Lu breaks down into tears. A day in the city and Kio has already broken a girl's heart. Kio goes back Ezelcant's house and isn't in the mood for dinner after his experiences during the day. At night, Ezelcant explains that he wants to bring the Vagan people back to Earth, and his plans had always left room for the enemy to survive because he wants to test if the Eartlings are worthy of living on Earth. Elsewhere, Zanald and the technical crew are analyzing the AGE 3 and they are under Ezelcant's orders to use the knowledge gained from the Gundam to build a Vagan-version of the Gundam. Zanald is excited at the prospect of new weapons and the potential of EXA-DB, but on the other hand he is unhappy about how Ezelcant is letting Kio roam free. I guess is capturing the Gundam is worth getting excited about. Back in Earth's orbit, Zeheart receives Ezelcant's order to begin the next stage of the plan. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This prisoner of war gig is not turning out to be too horrible for Kio. Kio just so happens to look like Ezelcant's dead kid and gets treated more like a guest than a prisoner. The purpose of this episode is obviously to show that the Vagans are suffering in their home world due to disease and lack of resources and so that the audience and Kio see both sides of the conflict. It's a war, and it's hard to say who is right or wrong. The Vagan people are suffering, but Ezelcant's approach of going straight to war and "testing" if the Earthlings are worthy of living is questionable. Kio is probably going be stuck on Vagan home colony until Asemu's pirates can come to his rescue, and we'll see what kind of effect this experience will have on Kio when he get back in the AGE 3 and fight against the Vagans again. Overall, this wasn't a very interesting episode. On the mechanical side, the Vagans are analyzing the AGE 3 and planning to build their own Gundam as expected. Zanald is getting a little power hungry and unsatisfied with Ezelcant, but I'd imagine he'll probably die before Ezelcant. Now we are just waiting for Asemu to show up and rescue Kio so the Kio can return to near Earth to in the final battle or something along those lines. From the feed of A Product of Wasted Time
