Keeping tabs on which players are hot can help when it comes to adding to your team from free agents or the waiver wire in your fantasy baseball league. The following players are available in the majority of fantasy leagues and have been on a hot streak over the past week: Justin Smoak (SEA) – 1B The Mariners first baseman was named American League Player of the Week after putting up 3HR, 8RBI and 7R. He may never live up to the potential that Seattle hoped for when they landed him in the trade that sent Cliff Lee to the Texas Rangers in 2010. However, decent power potential and a patient approach at the plate make him worthy of a flier in deeper leagues. Wilin Rosario (COL) – C The Rockies backstop got off to a slow start to the season but has filled in admirably for the injured Ramon Hernandez. He has been on a hot streak of late with 2HR, 7RBI and even chipped in 2SB over the past 7 days. When Hernandez returns, Rosario should still continue to see playing time in the Mile High City. Nyjer Morgan (MIL) – OF The speedy outfielder has played much better since joining the Brewers than he did in the latter part of his time with the Nationals. Playing time has always been an issue but Morgan has been playing well lately when given the at bats. He has hit .375 over the past week with 2SB and a surprising 2HR during that span. Worth a look for a bench spot. Michael Saunders (SEA) – OF After showing some pop in the minor leagues along with an ability to get on base, the Mariners center fielder has looked weak against MLB pitchers thus far in his major league career. However, he has been streaking lately although the power still hasn’t come around and RBIs could be hard to come by at the bottom of Seattle’s line up but he may be worth riding while he is hot. Jarrod Parker (OAK) – SP The Athletics starter has allowed a run over his last 2 starts including a start against the Texas Rangers where he took a no-hitter into the 7th inning. Wins may be hard to come by due to the weak Oakland offense but Parker should help in the peripheral pitching categories. Keep an eye on who is hot and grab them while you can.
