Here at the Plumbing College we cannot believe how quickly the summer holiday is flying by, we have all been very busy enrolling new students onto plumbing courses and are looking forward to them all making successful starts with their studies. Time is passing so quickly that the next thing we know it will be cold, dark and nearly Christmas! So, with winter fast approaching, it is a perfect time of year for home owners to start preparing for the forthcoming cold season. Over the next few weeks the Plumbing College will be giving you a few basic tips on how you can protect your home from those unwanted winter disasters as ‘prevention is much better than cure!’One of the major ‘must do’s’ is to give your boiler its annual MOT! Although it may seem premature to have your boiler serviced in the summer this will give you enough time to have any work done before the cold sets in. Don’t wait until you need the heating on or you could be in for a long wait, October tends to be the most common month for heating systems to break down.
