OVER a thousand UCL students of the School of Pharmacy were not able to participate in this year's UCLU spring elections. When School of Pharmacy students went to the polls to cast their vote they received a message stating “For some reason we can’t match your account, it is likely you were not in the data given to us by UCL”. The School of Pharmacy had merged with UCL on January 1 2012. Immediately following this, students’ records previously held by the School of Pharmacy’s Registry were transferred to the UCL Registry. Student details were supposed to have been inputted into the UCL system and shared with the UCLU as long as individuals did not opt out of the Union. Student records have been held at the UCL Registry for over two months without being transferred to the UCLU, which has ultimately led to School of Pharmacy students being unable to participate in the election process.
