Edo Tensei is released, but Madara is not too keen to leave.
Now that I'm in the series, I'm not going away that easily.
Itachi and the rest of the zombies start to disintegrate as the Edo Tensei is released. Choza releases Dan from the seal, and Dan uses a spirit jutsu so head towards Tsunade. Meanwhile, Madara is disintegrating but continues to attack the Kages. Tsunade blocks some fire blasts but her regeneration seal runs out. Madara's soul is about to leave but suddenly Madara reforms and tries to stab the now helpless Tsunade with Susanoo. Tsuande however suddenly flies out of the way thanks to Dan's spirit reaching her. Dan says his goodbye in the spiritual plane and Tsuande returns to the real world to face Madara once again. The Kages wonder why Madara doesn't disappear, and Madara states that if the Edo Tensei is carelessly released a zombie who knows the seal can release the Edo Tensei contract and remain in the real world. Madara then proceeds to perform the seal to release the contract.
So the zombie summoning has been undone and Dan gets to say goodbye to Tsuande, but not too surprisingly super-haxx0r zombie Madara isn't going to fizzle out so easily. And thus it looks like the Kages will have to get the win themselves instead of relying on Itachi's efforts. If Madara really stays around and still have full power then the Kages will probably need some help. I don't know who is available that is strong enough to help in this situation though, but maybe Madara will be hampered by something. A full-power Madara would be unfair. A long shot would be for Sasuke to control Kabuto into doing something.
