Breakfast seems to always be a challenge in our house. Some of us (me) like to sleep in until the last possible minute and not get up a second before we have to. Others (Jay and LJ) love to hit the ground running the second their eyes open and don't want to be slowed down from what they want to get done. > read more
Cesar Cookie Crunchies Dog Treat Review
Published on 2012-05-14 21:33:57
After thirty-something years of never owning a dog, I finally get it. I went from reluctantly letting LJ play with Roofus at the shelter to agreeing to take him home with us to loving him like he has been a member of the family forever. The more time Roofus spends with us, the more I realize he really is LJ's dog - they both have allergies (Seriously? Dogs can have seasonal allergies??? > read more

The Brother P-Touch Label Maker Follow Up
Published on 2012-04-04 23:37:16
It's been a few months since I used my Brother P-touch Label Maker to help me organize my home office. I'm sure it wouldn't surprise you to learn that the labels I made aren't showing any wear, right? Most are on organizational boxes or on file tabs. They really don't take too much of a beating. However, once I fell in love with the label maker I started labeling everything in the house. I hit the garage and labeled all those containers that are kicking around. I tackled the bathroom and labe [..] > read more

Family Vacations
Published on 2012-03-13 14:43:01
It's kind of funny what you remember from family vacations, isn't it? When I was growing up, we took a yearly vacation and usually visited a new location each time. I remember going to Martha's Vineyard, Northern New Hampshire, Vancouver Canada, Branson Missouri, and Disney World just to name a few. So far, we've taken LJ to the Wisconsin Dells, Chicago, and Disney World (granted, he's been to Disney THREE times!). I'm thinking it's time to take him somewhere new for a vacation. As many of you know, I've been redoing my home office over the last few weeks. And as anyone who works from home knows, it is very disruptive to have to unhook all of the wires and gadgets we have connected to our computers. Since I knew it was going to be several days before I could put everything back together again, I was worried about how I would keep up with all of the work I needed to get done. Culver's Fish Fry - Yay or Nay?
Published on 2012-03-08 18:53:44
Having grown up in the boondocks of Connecticut, I have to admit that I never even heard of a fish fry until I moved to Wisconsin. When I mentioned it to my parents, they remembered their churches having them when they were children, but the fish fry had long since vanished from the weekly dining out option. Once I landed in Wisconsin, I began noticing signs for fish frys everywhere - local churches, family restaurants, even our neighborhood restaurant chains had them. I have always preferre [..] > read more
Neosporin Essentials to the Rescue
Published on 2012-03-07 13:06:41
My seven year old, LJ, has suffered with eczema since he was a toddler. After a fairly uneventful infancy where he was not sensitive to anything in particular, he broke out into red blotches suddenly when he was about 16 months old. (And right at Christmas picture time too!) A quick trip to the pediatrician shed some light on what was going on. Eczema. We were prescribed some prescription steroid cream and given directions on how to deal with it and what precautions we could take (bathing l [..] > read more
Keeping Digestion Running Smoothly with Probiotics #DigestiveHealth #CBias
Published on 2012-03-07 13:05:53
I am all about good digestive health! There are a few things that, if they don't work properly or are causing you pain, pretty much ruin your entire day. One of them is your back. I learned this the hard way when I pulled a muscle while we were at Disney last year. The other is your digestive health. Whether things aren't coming out, are coming out too fast, or are exiting through the enter door (bet you never heard throwing up described like that before), when the system isn't working, you pr [..] > read more
Snowy Day Pictures
Published on 2012-03-03 07:06:30
We finally got some snow here in Wisconsin. It was that heavy, wet snow that sticks to everything and makes it feel like a winter wonderland outside. I'd been wanting to try taking some pictures with the trees as a background and figured this might be my last chance. (Actually, I had wanted to do this with a red sweater and use it for the X-mas card, but mother nature didn't cooperate!) Since the light was fading quickly, I dragged LJ out while the snow was coming down pretty hard. "Mom - [..] > read more
How to Find a Lawyer
Published on 2012-03-02 11:08:48
Finding a good lawyer is something most people don't think of until they actually need one. Unfortunately, most of the things that cause a person to seek out a personal attorney are not happy ones and the stress of trying to find a lawyer does not help the situation. Most people begin the search for an attorney when they are facing a divorce, an injury due to an accident at work, a car accident resulting in broken bones, whiplash or worse, or a suit filed against them. Occasionally, folks [..] > read more

Office Organization with Brother P-Touch Labels
Published on 2012-02-27 19:27:20
A few months ago, I was offered the chance to use a Brother P-Touch label printer to help get my home office in shape. This really could NOT have come at a better time as my office had once been our guest bedroom and really needed a makeover in order to be the kind of space where I felt comfortable doing business. The room still felt a bit like a bedroom and did not have the tools I needed to keep organized. Luckily, this project came with a budget and I was thrilled to go shopping for some [..] > read more
