New Zealand Trip Part 4 - Depot Eatery and Oyster Bar
Published on 2012-08-16 03:11:00
Depot Eatery and Oyster Bar I managed to squeeze in a lot of eating which sadly had to span over 2 posts so look forward to the next post yeah? I chose Depot Eatery as I see there was always a crowd even during non busy hours so this place must be good! Being hungry, I chose a meat board, 2 small sharing plates and 1 large sharing plate between 2 people but the waiter had to stop me because he said they are actually quite big.

So, I was fortunate enough to be invited for a sneak peak banquet at the newly opened restaurant in The Star - The Century on 19 July...thats 3 days before anyone yo! Since it was a VIP banquet, the food was served in small portioned plates rather than in communal dishes in Asian countries.

Lantern is the latest 'Izakaya' (type of Japanese drinking establishment which also serves food to accompany the drinks) styled restaurant by Wagaya. It features little booths with touch screen menus or you can book a karaoke room so you can sing and eat at the same time. I was lucky enough to get sponsored by Food Morning and got a $200 coupon to spend at Lantern by Wagaya~ so off I go to get a feast on Japanese food. We started off with some drinks.
