Revenge Week: You're Invited
Published on 2012-05-21 06:00:11
It's Revenge Week and you're invited to join us all week long as we plan, prepare and host a season finale viewing party for our closest Revenge-super-fan girlfriends. Invitations were couriered to invitees last week--because isn't that how Victoria Grayson would do it?--and most RSVPs arrived back within two days. My inspiration for the invitations came from the Fire and Ice Ball. > read more

A Word (or Maybe More) About Pinterest

If you're on Pinterest, you're probably addicted. It just one of those things...insomnia? Pinterest. Waiting room at the orthodontist's office? Pinterest. The baby is sleeping? Pinterest. This is not a post about the new terms of service on the Pinterest website--read them and decide for yourself. This is also not about giving people credit for their ideas and images--that's an internet-wide pet-peeve of mine but as long everyone maintain a little common sense, I think we'll all be okay. What Should I Wear? School Gala
Published on 2012-03-07 13:43:57
The school gala is coming up. It's an event that only happens every second year. I'm still uncertain if I'm going to go or not but I bought a dress just in case. I have no idea idea what to wear with it. What say you? So, this is what I wore to the last gala. I literally saw the outfit in a catalogue and bought the whole thing head-to-toe--that's how I shop. I added a black ruffled clutch. I also felt a little bit over-dressed. Gala 2010 I already have this dress in my closet and altho [..] > read more
Lunch for the Ladies
Published on 2012-01-25 06:00:10
I had a fun day today with two of my closest gal pals. We enjoyed a little girl-time getting pedicures and then I hosted a luncheon for them, followed up by an iPad tutorial. Speaking of iPads...I gave a lot of them as gifts this year. At least 10 of them. The first app I tell everyone about is Paprika Recipe Manager. It's definitely my most-used software program. It's also available for Mac computers and offers a handy Bookmarklet. No software or app is easier to save (or share) recipes. [..] > read more

Christmas Cake Pops {Linky}
Published on 2011-12-16 06:00:03
Christmas cake pops--yeah, I've made a few. I enjoy making them every year for the school staff and faculty. I mean, the faculty that don't actually teach my son--they get cupcakes. Sometimes I'll make a second batch closer to Christmas for friends and house guests. These ideas come from Bakerella, and I would never tell her to suck it. Nothing but respect. The first time I made cake pops, I made them in a non-sphere shape, and I'll probably never do that again. I thought I was being cle [..] > read more
Teacher Gifts From the Kitchen: Cupcakes

There are two things that the teachers and staff have come to expect at Christmas time: Cupcakes and Cake Pops. Today, I'll tell you about the cupcakes I sent in for HeHeelys' teachers. Last year, I gave cupcake 4-packs. This year, I decided to do a half dozen. Christmas Treats From the Kitchen

There's a lot of baking going on this week. I'm not complaining--I love it! So, amidst the baking, I decided to put together boxes of treats for a couple of special people. I had several flats of canning jars left over from our Kicking Off Summer barbecue and decided to put them to good use.
