Understanding
Published on 2010-06-14 07:15:00
A spotlight needs to remain on the issues surrounding a generation (or more) of young military servicemen and servicewomen for all they do, and for all they're willing to do in order for the rest of us to have the lives we live in the USA. I find it insulting, though, that Michelle Obama feels she needs "To help the rest of our country better understand and appreciate the incredible service" our military provides. These are our sons and daughters, nephews and nieces, brothers and sisters. We
What am I Missing Here?

Is it just me, or is it dumb and/or strange and/or crazy that there's more commotion being made about South Carolina Republican Representative Joe Wilson's rude behavior in regards to the Barack Obama speech, during which Wilson yells at the President "You lie!", than there is about California Republican Assemblyman Mike Duvall’s admission, in graphic terms, of improprietous behavior with lobbyists, which is, at the least, a clear conflict of interest?

"American Issue Survey"

I received an email from the NRCC requesting that I take a survey, something called the "American Issue Survey", so I took it, then did some screen captures of the email and the survey. What a joke.Sorry for the "choppy" presentation... my copy of "SnagIt" expired, and $49.95 is a bit steep for my purposes. Also, in order to actually read the email and poll, you'll need to click the image for a larger view.Email request as follows:Next, screen captures of the actual survey showing my response
Deer In My Backyard
Published on 2006-11-09 07:43:00
The patriarch of my kitty-cat clan went outside last night, and I've gone outside several times to call him, but still no Oscar. I hope nothing's happened to him. Shortly after having called for him the fourth, or so, time, I noticed the two youngest of the cats staring intently out the back windows, so I thought they may be seeing him. When I walked into the room they were in, within view of the windows, I saw deer... a number of them. They saw me, too, and were startled, scrambling for cover.
Good News...

...I was able to arrange for shipping of the antique vanity table/mirror up for auction that I wanted, so I was able to bid on it, and I won! I'm really happy about this. For me it was a first foray into the world of shipping without the trusty USPS, UPS, FedEx or DHL there to guide me. 'Course the vanity's not here yet, but I have a good feeling about the shipper, as well as the people with whom I won the auction. But my husband's going to have a fit! Well, he'll be okay once he sees how well i

This is a post, copied and pasted, word-for-word, from my new blog at eBay.I've decided to start this blog at eBay because I've been so active as a buyer here in the last few months, and have learned a lot. Also, as the name of the blog would imply, I have a great desire to become more active as a seller in the near future. I've been preparing for that in various ways, i.e., research of products, pricing, strategy, and best practices, an upgrade of my PayPal account, a signing on with Pitney Bo

Inkblot Analysis
Published on 2006-03-26 16:37:00
MAR 26 2006The analysis begins:“Your unconscious mind is driven most by Curiosity.”I'd have to agree. I'm insatiably curious about most things, which is the way I describe myself when I have to do it. I should have been a scientist, I think.“By having your unconscious mind driven most by Curiosity, you probably have an inquisitive and forward-thinking nature. This trait can manifest by being full of thoughts about the future, or maybe you simply enjoy considering new ideas. Not

The test is a "Premium" test so I wasn't able to gain access to the complete analysis until I paid around $10.00 for a 7-day trial subscription. FEB 19 2006I found the article below as a "clipping" at clipmarks originally and followed the trail, which turns out to be a short one, to THE RAW FEED, then to Site officiel de Zalea TV, at which point it appears to end. Fascinating stuff, though. The video is in French (with the exception, I presume, of the recorded voices). Extracted are the unmistakable sounds of tools being used for some purpose (perhaps the pottery-making process), communication between humans through language, and human la

My Johari/Nohari
Published on 2006-02-17 17:39:00
FEB 17 2006The Johari Window was invented by Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingram in the 1950s as a model for mapping personality awareness. By describing yourself from a fixed list of adjectives, then asking your friends and colleagues to describe you from the same list, a grid of overlap and difference can be built up.I want to know how you'd describe me -- pick the five or six words from the list in my Johari Window that you think describe me best. The Nohari Window is a challenging inversion of
