After the recent cold snap (Atlanta has been shut down for 5 days) many people with whom I have spoken, and even some people on television have begun to beat a different type of global warming drum. Their excuse for the recent cold weather is that, "Global Warming is Causing Global Cooling".

A friend of mine with liberal tendencies was nice enough to put a video, straight from the White House no less, on Facebook about the expiration of the Bush tax cuts. This propoganda is what the Democrats have put out as an attempt to mislead the public, and strangely enough, seem to position their stance as some sort of middle class tax cut. That is right....I said it. In hindsight, the gulf oil spill is beginning to look like another story that was over exaggerated (See Swine Flu Declared Over) in order to whip the public into a frenzy, when in fact it never was as bad as it was reported. As a matter of fact, I think that the media owes the residents of the gulf coast a big apology, and come to think of it even Tony Hayward deserves amends for the coverage of this cataclysmic disaster.

Oh yeah, now I remember......the swine flu. That was supposed to be the next flu pandemic, and it dominated headlines for the better part of a year. We stockpiled vaccines, and avoided the general public so we wouldn't be infected. After all, not only would the swine flu cause instant death, but it would also cause you to grow a long snout and live in filth as well.

The totals for the amount of oil spilled are calculated beginning from the initial explosion at 10 p.m. on April 20. While both oil and gas are leaking from the well, the estimates here are only for the amount of oil. BP announced on May 21 that the fluid leaking was roughly half oil, half natural gas.

Oil spills suck, and obviously have no winners whatsoever. In this case, it is damaging the environment, has instituted a new policy of not drilling offshore, and worst of all, it is being politicized by the Obama administration. As the gusher continues to spew on the gulf floor, it seems that the government is pointing their finger at BP, as opposed to helping to solve the problem.

I guess that switching parties in a constant search for political relevancy just doesn’t do the trick. On Tuesday, Pennsylvania voters kicked Arlen Specter to the curb in the Democratic Senate primary. Hell, even Barack Obama, AKA. the messiah, came to Pennsylvania to campaign on his behalf. Yet he lost the primary. If this isn't well deserved justice, then I don't know what is.
