New Alimony Statute Effective July 1, 2011

On July 1, 2011, changes to section 61.08, Florida Statutes went into effect. This is the section of Chapter 61 that governs an award (or lack thereof) of Alimony. These small or "tweaking" changes narrow the circumstances under which permanent, periodic alimony will be awarded.
