AT SOME POINT YOU SEEK SOMETHING FAMILIAR. In my case, it's been the food. I guess we haven't been around long enough to have discovered where to get our fill of Asian, without it being tempered to a less-fishy or less-spicy compromise. As well, home-cooking has been nearly impossible with a pantry devoid of true South East Asian soy sauce, fish sauce, cane vinegar, sesame oil or shrimp paste. More searching and researching required! But thanks to some local friends, we had a much-needed Asian [..] > read more

QUITE AMUSING TO DISCOVER how the band's name is a vesre of Tango Project, an 80's tango compilation the band had aimed to pay tribute to. A form of wordplay used colloquially in Buenos Aires and is also found in the lyrics of many tango tracks, a vesre rearranges the syllables of a word, positioning the end syllable up at the beginning. So tango becomes gotan. Café becomes feca. Reves, which means "reverse", becomes vesre, which brings us back to the start of this paragraph! The concept is no [..] > read more
