Not sure what the deal is but the blogger link is down and will be missed by many peeps out in the blogosphere. So I'm posting the ultimate definition of black metal in its honor. More re-uploads for ya.*NEW FILE* Lights Unfold (1990) If you were like me and into the Butthole Surfers back in the late 80's, you may remember (how could you not) the woman who would dis-robe at the front of the stage and dance naked under the strobe lights throughout the course of the show. Her name was Kathleen Lynch and Beme Seed is the psychedelic noise-rock band she formed post-Buttholes and is actually pretty good. Check it out! > read more

More RE-UPS!*NEW FILE* SoundclashThis is a sick collection of soundclash dubplate style tracks produced by the late, great King Tubby. Contagious Orgasm is the moniker for japanese experimental musician Hiroshi Hashimoto and Government Alpha is the moniker for the japanese experimental musician Yoshida Yasutoshi. Following in the footsteps of other notable japanese noise-makers Merzbow and Massonna, the "music" on this collaborative album is filled with mashed-up and cut-up electronic noise mixed with sound scapes of quiet beauty. I haven't heard much from the super talented Max Tundra in while, so I pulled out this album for a listen earlier today. I completely forgot how enjoyable and brilliant it is. I am pretty sure he plays everything on each track. When I saw him perform back in 2010, armed with a plethora of synths and gadgets, he played everything then as well. I'm not familiar with Michael Tapscott (who was founder of the band Odawas) but I am seriously digging this album. The Incredible Bongo Band - The Return Of The Incredible Bongo Band [1974]
Published on 2012-03-01 17:45:00
The Incredible Bongo Band was a project started in 1972 by Michael Viner, a record artist manager and executive at MGM Records. The music is super funky, early '70s soul-drenched instrumentals (many of which were covers of popular songs of the day) heavy on the bongos and congas percussion. Hip hop DJ's have been sampling some of these tracks for years (most notably from their first album "Bongo Rock") so you may recognize some of the grooves. The Bay Area's own Johnny Otis sadly passed away earlier this week. Commonly referred to as the "Godfather of Rhythm and Blues" Otis was a huge asset to the music community.
