Domestic Fixtures Announced

Published on 2010-06-17 07:52:00

The fixtures for the 2010/11 Scottish and English football seasons have been announced this morning. Even though it may be 2 months away, I am already very much excited and looking forward to what the new season may bring and I will be working as hard as ever to make sure it is my most profitable season yet. The Scottish Divisions kick off on the 7th August as do the English versions whereas both premier leagues kick off a week later on the 14th. As always, I will be constructing my ante post Sc

2010 World Cup Group StagesGermany vs Australia (19:30)Moving onto day 3 of the competition and this is the game that appeals to me most. No doubt Germany deserve to be favourites but Australia definetly seem to be under rated by the odds compilers here and I am willing to give them a chance at a big price today. The Germans are no longer a world class side and in recent years they have 'grafted' their way through stages of competitions without every showing great class. Australia are not a bad

2010 World Cup Group Stages Argentina vs Nigeria (15:00)Yesterday was not a bad start as our bet on South Africa Mexico was void after the game finished 1-1. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and on another day it could have finished with more goals. Thankfully for us the Mexicans wasted several headed opportunities and both teams will probably feel they could have won the game. Comparing that with the 2nd match it was very much a classic because Uruguay and France had 0-0 all over it from 20mins+.

2010 World Cup Group StagesSouth Africa vs Mexico (15:00)The opening game of the 2010 world cup is finally here and I for one expect a very nervy encounter when both these sides walk out to what is sure to be a rapturous crowd tomorrow afternoon. I have no doubt Mexico are the better side between these two but home advantage is massive for the hosts and they will be set up in a way that will frustrate the Mexicans at every given opportunity. SA coach Carlos Parreira has announced he will name th

Hi folks,After thinking it through for a while I have decided to stick with my current blog instead of setting up a new one. The only thing that has changed is the title of the blog and I have made it into my own name which is Thomas and not Jack like some of you will no doubt think. The address still stays the same (jackjarvisbetting.blogspot.com). The name Jack Jarvis comes from a favourite Scottish comedy of mine called Still Game in which one of the leading casts in the program is named Jack

Scottish Premier LeagueKilmarnock vs FalkirkAs far as games go, this game is absolutely ENORMOUS for both clubs in their bid to avoid relegation. A win or draw will ensure Killie are playing SPL football next season whereas Falkirk simply have to win to be in the top flight next season. Because of that I think the price on the overs/unders line has been wrongly set. I understand people will expect an open game here as Falkirk have to win but I get the feeling Pressley will have his side approach

Celtic ran out 2-1 winners of the Old Firm game on Tuesday night to boost our impressive streak on the blog of late. The domestic football season is drawing to a close and this weekend will see the curtains drawn on the 2009/10 football season, with the divisional play offs being the exception of course. I absolutely hate this time of year but with the world cup just over the hill, I suppose it is not all bad. It's always nice to finish the domestic campaign on a high and I'll be doing my very v

Meaningless Old Firm? You Must Be Joking Right!?

Scottish Premier LeagueCeltic vs RangersWith the SPL title already done and dusted, the newspapers have been billing this up as a 'meaningless' Old Firm game all week long. Well, as someone who witnesses the passion and desire from both Glasgow sides on a regular basis, try and say that to any man and his dog in Govan/Parkhead and you would get a swift slap on the face. There is no such thing as a meaningless Old Firm even with the SPL title already being settled. Neil Lennon will see this match

English PremiershipStoke City vs. EvertonStoke have been known for their solid record at the Britannia stadium over the years but now approaching the end of season, Tony Pulis’s men are safe from relegation and the wheels have certainly fallen off the wagon in the last few games. Unusually for Stoke, they have lost 3 of their last 5 games at home including a 2-1 defeat against Bolton a fortnight ago. Things certainly did not improve last week as they were humbled 7-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bri
