Job Hunting

Published on 2012-05-21 08:11:00

Unemployment sucks. It really is the worst feeling in the world. What makes it worse is that I know I would be so good at the jobs I am not getting.A couple of employers have told me that I was the second choice, but that's no good is it? What is the point of telling me that? > read more

Dalglish Sacked

Published on 2012-05-16 11:15:00

A short time ago, it was announced that Kenny Dalglish was no longer Manager of Liverpool Football Cub.Even though I was half expecting this, I am still a bit shocked by it. The next manager will be the fourth to take control of Liverpool in two years. That rate of turnover concerns me. I don't want the club to become like Chelsea, where we simply get someone else in when things are not going the way we all want.I think I am shocked that a > read more

Liverpool FC Ramblings

Published on 2012-05-15 02:00:00

So the season has finally come to an end.I remember last August, before the 2011/12 season kicked off, I felt hope, like I am sure so many other Liverpool fans felt. The new(ish) owners FSG had brought in the manager everyone seemed to want in Kenny Dalglish, and they had poured an awful lot of money into the club for new players.I felt hope that we would have a better season than the previous one. I didn't expect to win the league, to be honest, even back then I was doubtful that we would even [..] > read more

Gay Marriage

Published on 2012-05-10 10:45:00

This has of course sparked off the debate that never actually goes away. In the UK, for the most part, its not a conversation I encounter much. Nor is it a main talking point for politicians, not saying that it is not on their agendas, but there is not nearly as much focus on it than there is in the States.I looked through some comments on a story on the BBC News website.'It's everyone's and their children's business when the law of our land formally acknowledges and even promotes homosexual rel [..] > read more

Punishments and Technology in Football

Published on 2012-04-09 04:30:00

Punishmentand Technology.AsPepe Reina nodded his head in the direction of James Perch on Sunday,I nodded mine in the direction of the table I was leaning on. Whatwas Reina thinking? He really ought to have known better, and I won'targue that he shouldn't have been sent off, because it was a clearred card offence; if an opposing player did that to one of ourplayers, I would have been furious with him.Asmy forehead hit the table, I laughingly thought to myself that I hadprobably did more damage to [..] > read more

Liverpool Football Club

Being a Liverpool fan is tough. It has been this way for as long as I remember. My first clear memory of Liverpool Football Club was the 1996 FA Cup Final. I was 10 years old and I fell in love that day. Liverpool lost that game, and in some ways, that first game has prepared me for my for life as a Liverpool fan.I have only been to three Liverpool games in my life, which isn't nearly enough. Two of them were against Watford when they had their stints in the Premiership, and my uncle was a seaso [..] > read more

Kindle

I gave in. I bought a Kindle. I always rejected the idea, kind of the same way I rejected the iPod years back for whatever reason. I like to read. I go through phases, sometimes I won't tough a book for a couple of months, and then I'll race through three or four in under two weeks. The reason I resisted the Kindle, or any other type of E-Reader, is that I like the feel of a book. England V Spain/Sweden

Published on 2011-11-16 10:45:00

On Saturday 12th November, I was present at Wembley Stadium when England beat the current European and World Champions, Spain, 1-nil. It was actually kind of incredible that we won. Spain, for the most part, were amazing to watch and I don't rally know how they didn't score. All I can say is that we defended really well.I was meant to go with my brother, but he shot his back out the night before and could barely walk, so I took my Dad instead, which wasn't a huge problem, just means this game is [..] > read more

Well I'm back and all settled back into normal life again. I am actually a little depressed; where I live is a bit of a let down compared to New York.I had an amazing time. I definitely want to go back, fingers crossed for next year. I stayed at The Jane Hotel in Greenwich Village. Although the room was small, it was comfortable. I had to share a bathroom with the floor, but never had to wait and it was always spotless. All in all, a very nice hotel.Day One - Monday 12th September; My brother dro [..] > read more

Less Than A Day To Go

So in about 12 hours, I will be on my way to the airport. Seems like time has flown by since my booked my trip, and now its finally here.I've just finished backing, although I may yet switch the bag I'm using. The one I've backed everything into seems a little small, I probably won't have a lot of room left in it if I buy anything out there. On the other hand, the other bag available to me is HUGE. I Really Hate Wasps

Published on 2011-08-21 08:45:00

Two weeks ago, while at a restaurant with my Mum, I was stung by a wasp. It was probably my own fault; less than an hour before this happened, I flicked another wasp with a menu and killed it. So there we go: Karma. The sting swelled up and I had a small red mark for a couple of hours. The following day, you couldn't even see the sting. Fast forward to the follwing Sunday, which was a week on from the sting, and suddenly out of nowhere, I finally had a reaction. There had been nothing on my arm f [..] > read more

50 Days To Go

Yay! Only 50 more days left until I head to New York City. I'm getting pretty excited. I'm going to spend some time over the next few weeks looking over thing so I know where I want to go and what I want to do out there to get some sort of plan. If I don't, I know I'll come back and realised I've forgotten something. My parents aren't overly amused that I'm going on my own, but sooner or later they are going to have to realise that I'm an adult. Not that that will stop them worrying. > read more
