If you're into guitar history, this book is great. From the title of the book, I thought it would be kind of a fluffy overview, a review of "guitar gods and their axes". Not so. Dave Hunter put a lot of thought into who he presents, and with which guitars, going all the way from Robert Johnson to the Carter Family to Van Halen. It's a heckuva tour. While the fingerboard charts are very clear and the contents make them easy to find, there is one glaring, obvious shortcoming, especially for beginners . . . the identity of which fingers to use in the chords is left out. The title of this book is a bit misleading. This is not a method book with step-by-step lessons. This is a song book. This is a nice book with a video guide that shows you, up close how each lesson is performed -- a great plus for someone who knows NOTHING about playing guitar.
