US Masters 2012 - News from Augusta 2012
Published on 2012-03-23 16:14:00
With the Augusta 2012 USMasters course looking set to ride at 7800 yards the US championship will remain a true test of the big hitters in golf. Fairway accuracy remains paramount for the US Masters 2012 but of course putting has to be the strongest element with such fierce greens as seen at Augusta. Hitting long remains ideal but if the payer's a poor putter he surely suffer. So far according to USPGA Stats SergioGarcia, not Tiger Woods remains the strongest putter. Arnold Palmer Invitational a Prelude to Augusta
Published on 2012-03-23 15:44:00
Well it's amazing to see Tiger Woods -8 under (in second place) only 1 behind the leader J Dufner. Can it be that he really is not ill at all and his injury is a ruse to trick the Augusta crows into writing him off? Can Tiger Woods really be back in action for the US Masters at Augusta 2012? My money is looking likely to back him I just want to see his third round performance at the Arnold Palmer to get a truer understanding of this great player! Who will win Augusta 2012 US Masters?
Published on 2012-03-22 15:40:00
Well as the warm-ups are soon to start and with Tiger Woods apparently already having played the Augusta, it will be interesting to note if this advantage has given the once world champion the chance to win at Augusta 2012. My money however is looking likely to settle on a lower (although younger player) such as Bubba Watson or even Rory McIlory - he was once world number one, but now Luke Donald is the world champ! Could Charl do it?It seems unlikely as the odds on last years winner winning a [..] > read more

Golf Swing with ease
Published on 2012-03-20 02:18:00
Out on the course this weekend I was hit by a sudden realsiation that my swing had become far too "Body-centered". I was effectively swinging the club around my body and causing all sorts of mishaps like hooking the ball sharply to my left. I am a right handed golfer. Having made the concious effort to swing the club over my finishing shoulder I discoverd my golf swing instantly improved in terms of accuracy and distance. My only thought was how to finish the swing, rather than focusing on hitti [..] > read more
When and how to lay up on the golf course
Published on 2012-02-29 14:47:00
Deciding when to lay-up on a golf course is a tactical and strategic decision that will allow you to play to the best of your abilities. It is often ignored at the peril of the amateur golfer, resulting in more strokes on the score-card and a round of golf damaged beyond repair. To “lay-up” is to play the ball shorter than normal to create the chance of the next shot being more favourably to the golfer. A golfer may hit a 7 iron with greater consistency than a Sand Wedge – so they [..] > read more
The right kind of Golf Equipment
Published on 2012-02-27 13:32:00
As strange as it may sound wearing the right kind of golf clothing helps make a huge difference to your golf round. It’s all about keeping at the most comfortable you can possibly feel whilst remaining at the right core body temperature. On a hot day keeping cool whilst playing golf helps maintain your focus as the golf round commences. Similarly keeping warm on a cold or windy day helps your body stay relaxed and as supple as possible this ensuring your swing remains as fluid as possible. [..] > read more
Relaxation and the key to Golf Swing
Published on 2012-02-27 05:17:00
As simple as it may sound – relaxing when playing golf is the key way to maximise both distance and accuracy. However its essential to remember not too relax too much! Otherwise if you do the swing falls apart, with all natural momentum disappearing in all directions. Over –aggression forces the muscles to tense, reducing the body’s natural swing momentum effectively stopping the transferral of pivot/energy momentum. Often when playing (especially after a poor shot) the mind tends to stra [..] > read more
Amazing round of golf truly mind focused
Published on 2012-02-26 14:17:00
Well after what seemed a while I managed to get a good round of golf under way this weekend. Having scored a paltry 17 point Stableford I decided to get a better round in next time I played golf. As luck would have it I managed to secure a place at my local course Rivenhall Oaks at 9am. The weather was crisp, sunshine made the day seem like summer. The course plays well; a tight approach to the greens keeps Iron clubs at the front of club selection, whilst some areas allow for a good drive wit [..] > read more
