DIY a stay at home dad can do: Kill weeds without chemicals-Update!

Published on 2012-05-22 07:00:25

We did put the vinegar mixture in one of the large spray containers that used to belong to a name brand weed killer. That was a mistake. White vinegar makes things rust easily, add salt to that and it does it even quicker. The spray container has small metal screws inside it which rusted the moment that the mixture went across it. It even stained concrete. That stain does fade a bit with time, but it’s still there after a couple weeks. > read more

Vast improvements in simple devices: the Toothbrush

Published on 2012-05-19 11:04:20

As the stay at home parent I brush Toddler Mojo's teeth twice a day. Once we finish with that we have just enough time to eat and go back to sleep. Brushing the teeth of a toddler is like trying to force an octopus to use chopsticks to eat fish. It requires lots of patience, calm words and upper body strength to securely hold them down. > read more

Because Your Mommy Loves You, giveaway and review

It’s book that you’ll read aloud to your child. The sentences are short enough so that you can put lots of emotion in each one. As a parent that reads aloud to two children, there is nothing quite as draining as reading a long sentence to squirmy children. R.W Alley does the illustration and if you’ve read any children’s book you’ll recognize his style. It’s very detailed with realistic figures and Alley makes good use of the page space. > read more

He (Shankman) also spoke the truth in this very succinct quote, “Nothing exciting ever happens in your comfort zone.” That quote stuck in my head, yeah, but….and it always goes back to it. In your gut you know when you should do something. In some of those cases you wait, stall and then it gets to be too late so you don’t do it. Leave the comfort zone and work from your gut. > read more

All Mojo babies try new Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers

A dog, toddler and dirty diapers meet in a bar

Published on 2012-05-14 20:59:27

I enter the house to find the trash can open and chewed up. Unfortunately, that trash can is the one that houses all of the dirty diapers. Wilson, the aforementioned diaper bag eater, has upgraded his game, figured out his opposable paws and can open trash cans. While I’m all for intelligent dogs, having them eat dirty diapers is something I’d like to avoid. Dogs love to eat poop. Dogs that live in a family with children make fun of the dogs that only live in a house with cats. A toots [..] > read more

A dad reads The Mommy Diaries by Dallas Louis

She acknowledges that the relationship between husband and wife is the most important element in a family. My wife is down with that theory too. The last chapter of the book was a little frustrating to read because it details a typical frustrating day in the life of a stay at home parent where nothing seems to get done. Stick with the story though because she has some motivational Bible verses that come on the tail end of it. Her name is Dallas, she’s from Texas and a Christian, it’s st [..] > read more

Memories for my children and ones that I can’t remember

Some days I’ll go to Toddler Mojo’s preschool early so I can watch them play on the playground. The trick is to park just a couple rows back so you can see the playground but your little guy can’t see you. There are a couple other parents that arrive early too, all so we can watch our kids. One option is to have some sincere compliments at the ready. Another option is to have tickets to an event where you can immediately pull them out and give them to her. Disney Social Media Moms was more than a seminar

It helped that Mommy and Toddler Mojo came with me to Orlando. Even though I knew that I’d be networking or in seminars for the majority of the time I wanted them to experience the customer service and atmosphere of Disney. They played in the parks of course, but it was the fact that our son walked into the pool, instead of having to be carried, that was the high point of her vacation. > read more

Dad spends a night in the mancave: Haywire

Published on 2012-05-06 15:15:11

The fight scenes in Haywire are closer, tighter and more realistic than the average spy movie. In that regard, Haywire make you feel embarrassed if you saw Salt, which looks like a kids movie compared to this. Soderbergh’s direction is too artsy for the first quarter of the movie; using music too much and capturing the mood, but missing some of the action. If Haywire had more action it would’ve been a much better film. As it stands, it didn’t have enough action for a mancave movie, [..] > read more

From an entrepreneur level it helps support small business and that’s a good thing. You can also look at other titles that might interest you. For us The Simpsons is always a close 2nd. Don’t stop in intersections or immediately after a ride to look at your map. Step to a corner or just before you enter an intersection. Most tourists will stop in the middle of an area and figure out where they’re going and this takes much more time than needed. Ask a cast member where something is, they can point you there immediately. If you know where you’re going you can also cut through the stores or restaurants that are at most intersections. > read more

David Lee Roth’s appearance was enjoyable, but he forgot the words to many of the songs and his voice was giving out. On many of the songs he simply stopped singing, pantomimed his way out of it or dropped the microphone to his waist. DIY a Stay at Home Dad Can Do: Kill weeds without chemicals
