I am following "Flip Flop Floozie"'s lead and am changing my blog name and look. I, too, have become complacent and stale. I have not been posting very often and thought this might be a good idea.My new blogs address is: www.nanaoncaffeine.blogspot.com and the title is "Nana On Caffeine"! I thought it described me well.Come on over and help me make this blog as successful as "Cozy Reader" has been.

We got home this past Tuesday from Venezuela and it is so wonderful to be here. There is not a more beautiful word than "home"! I know for some people home does hot have as comforting a meaning as it does for me but it is a word with great meaning for me.Home is where I always felt safe, secure and loved. It was a place I knew I was welcomed and wanted, a place of comfort, a place of peace. So, to come home this week was a wonderful blessing. Our trip was great. My hubby taught a week o

I Am SO Honored

Look at what my friend Sooz (Learning for Lifetime) gave me! I am humbled. I "met" Susan after I had been blogging for a while. When I found out she was also a "PS" (preacher's spouse) our connection deepened. THEN, when she was passing through Atlanta on her way home, I met her and two of her sweet sons for breakfast. She was EXACTLY like I thought she would be. She has a big heart and cares deeply for her family, her friends and the children she teaches. Check out her blog.......

We are now "Chicken Farmers"!!!! Yesterday my hubby bought 30 laying hens and put them in the newly built chicken house! Later in the afternoon, Hector (our farm helper), came to the door with ONE egg! I didn't think there would be any for a day or two but those chickens got right to work. SO, here is a picture of the first egg AND of my hubby breakfast this morning. He said the egg was DElicious!!!

It has been a long year for him.Well, as you can see from this photo, he is doing SO much better and has lost almost 180 pounds. His clothes are all getting TOO big and he is going to need to buy a new belt soon!!He is doing aqua therapy as well as physical therapy and it is helping him build his muscles up and gain mobility. A Wonderful Gift!

This year for Christmas my husband gave me a Kindle. I was SO excited. I immediately purchased some books and downloaded them. What an amazing invention. Literally with one click I can have a new book IMMEDIATELY! In fact.....I could have HUNDREDS of books if I could afford them all at once!! One of the good things is that the books are cheaper than buying the regular books. I have even found a couple of FREE books! This will be great for travel. It only takes up a very small space and
Disaster in Haiti

Haiti has been hit AGAIN with an earthquake overnight. This one registered at over 6.0. It is so devastating. There is already such suffering and death, it makes one wonder why, doesn't it?There are many wonderful agencies on the ground offering aid and hope. The Salvation Army, UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief), Red Cross and others. In fact, two UMCOR representatives were killed in the first quake. And now with this second quake I am afraid there may be more aid workers inju

I have finally caught the 'bug' that everyone else in our family has had so I have been laying around today being lazy.........my hubby would probably say, "Why is today any different?"!!!!SO, I have pondered a few things. It seems when you are not feeling well your mind tends to wonder about strange things. So, for lack of a better reason, I thought I would share this 'lint' (as my friend Daisy calls it) with you.Why does the sun always seem to shine the brightest when you are sick and don'

The northeast is blanketed in snow....in some places there are blizzard conditions! I know it causes LOTS of problems. Flights are canceled, people are stuck in their homes, stores run out of milk and bread and everything is pretty much shut down. People slip and fall, cars bump into each other on the highways, animals cross their legs and hope they can wait to do their business!!All that being said.....I WANT SOME SNOW!!!! I received a copy of a newsletter today for my Dad's army battalion. He was in Patton's 3rd army during the war and they have been having reunions now for many years. I can remember my dad looking forward to these times. He and his buddies would share stories and would understand the far off looks in each others eyes. They shared so much and witnessed such horrors. When they met each year they knew they were with others who completely understood their feelings. This edition of the newsl
