Most Dental Instrument Manufacturers Hate Dental Instrument Re-tipping Companies

Published on 2013-04-05 14:50:00

Most manufacturers of dental instruments recommend against dental instrument re-tipping. Their reasoning is disingenuous and designed to protect their profits. Some manufacturers will say:

Did you know that the joints on pliers, cutters, needle holders and others can loosen. Bauer Dental can tighten the joint of your instrument insuring proper function. Needle Holders and pliers can be adjusted for proper bite.

Obviously over time your cutters as well as other tools will need sharpening and repair.

When To Sharpen Your Dental Instruments

Repairing Your Dental Handpiece

Published on 2012-06-05 12:24:00

What do we do with your highspeed dental handpiece when we receive it for repair? Personally I start with a good visual inspection looking for obvious damage that might warrant repair. If all is OK there, then a burr is placed in the chuck and removed several times. This will let me know if the chuck in engaging. A pull tester is then used to check the tightness of the chuck. If the chuck fails this test, then the turbine will be changed. The complete turbine must be changed when failing [..]

Choose Your New Dental Instruments Carefully

Published on 2012-05-25 13:43:00

All new dental instruments are not created equally. With the economy the way it is many of us are looking for any way possible to save money. So a lot of dental offices are spending on lower cost instruments. If you are doing this, you may not be saving as much as you think. You may even be spending more in the long haul. I would advise against purchasing any instruments or products of any kind from Pakistan or China. Ask your Dealer where the units are coming from before you purchase them. I h [..]
