Title: Who buys this stuff?

There is a lot of stuff in the world. Much of it is very useful to somebody; even dirt, manure, old car tires and empty bottles are useful to somebody. But then you see something and you have to know who buys this stuff? This stuff does not fulfil any known need and may not even adequately fulfil a want. This is why this stuff is often described as “gifts” because someone imagines that they might fulfil a want. Mark and Catherine plan to add a new entry every Monday, and certainly there is enough stuff in the world to fill countless blogs. We want your contribution!
