The Abortion is the self-published debut from writer Jamie McMorrow and artist Garry McLaughlin. It is a dark, silent horror. They have previously worked on other collaborative and individual projects and will be published in Bad Press Ltd’s Wasted! comic (issue 4, hopefully) as co-contributors on Junkie Dad, along with Jules Boyle.

We haven’t forgotten about Abe quite yet, as the latest review shows, but I thought it was time to whet your appetite for what’s next. The second of our one shot horrors allows us the opportunity to focus on our original plan, which is to have a long running, 12 issue series of such comics. read more..

I’m interested to know how many, if any, of the folk who picked up a copy of The Abortion on the launch night, and saw the lovingly hand written and stuck in link to this blog, have actually appeared here. There was a spike in visits afterwards, so I imagine people had a wee look, but read more..

Back to the start

This wasn’t actually the first page I worked on for The Abortion – that honour goes to page 5, I think, definitely one with a bin – though this was maybe number 3, and was the first one were I kind of realised I was working on a comic, leaving the space for the title read more..

A very big thankyou to everyone who came to our launch party and bought our comic. Very, very much appreciated. I hope you all had a good time and enjoy the book (a few folk bought copies for Christmas presents. Take that, Grandpa!). A double thanks to Gary from Branded Drinks who supplied us with beer. It went read more..

Launch Night success

Well, we successfully launched The Abortion last night to a great crowd of folk in a creepy little venue on Renfield Lane. The DJs were great, and thanks to Paul and Denise from Stereo for all their help.  Top folk.  Looking forward to the next one. read more..

Welcome from Jamie

Greetings to anyone foolish enough to come here. I am Jamie. I wrote the script for this comic. I never thought that my silly wee handwritten, Royal Mail delivered script would end up looking this good. It’s horrible and I did have mild qualms about Burning In The Bad Fire For All Eternity whilst writing read more..

Welcome from Garry

“It’s as much fun to scare as to be scared.” Vincent Price Damn right. A while back, after collaborating on a piece for Wasted! comic called Junkie Dad, Jamie sent me a handwritten script for his new comic book. It was handwritten, you see, because he’s a complete luddite with regards to computers, and didn’t have the read more..
