So, You Want to Guest Post on My Blog? Forget It!

Everyone's into guest posting these days. It's great for lazy bloggers. People send you content, and all you have to do is mindlessly hit the publish button. Traffic soars, comments appear out of thin air, and people love you. It's magic. If so many other bloggers have great success with guest authors—but perhaps not to the degree that I just described—why don't I try it? Couldn't I get the same results? No. Yes, guest blogging has benefits. But obviously, it's not for everyone. Here's why

Have you ever visited a blog with high expectations, only to throw up on your keyboard when you see the shocking combination of colors and fonts cluttered onto a sloppy layout? If so, you're not alone. It happens to me and many others every day. It's a sad fact that a majority of blogs are horribly designed. How ugly a blog is doesn't necessarily have anything to do with a bad design, because even the most gorgeous templates can be turned into a horrendous horror by a lazy or ignorant blogger.

There was a day, long ago, when I didn't know how to edit a blog template—the main reason being that I was too lazy to learn. But the default Blogger templates were incredibly dull and I didn't want to use them—and by the way, once the Template Designer came into existence, along with new, incredible templates which are used by almost everyone nowadays (I don't mean that as a good thing), people realized how bad the default templates were, gave them the "classic" label, and forgot about them
