According to a study released in February by Interclick Inc., word of mouth is a huge factor in fueling the $45.5 billion pet industry. Results of their online survey showed 78 percent of dog owners and 50 percent of cat owners are influenced by family and friends when it comes to buying products, food and supplies for their pets.
