"Orchids" Original Oil Painting - Still Life With Flowers
Published on 2012-02-09 14:54:00
"Orchids" is an original oil painting on a 12" square gallery wrap canvas. I decided on a view of the glass vase with these orchids from above. Looking down on the subject I was able to show the lace and the wood grain along with the shadows. On a gallery wrap canvas the painting wraps around the edge of the canvas 1.5 inches on all sides. To purchase this original oil send an email to pj@pjcookartist.com Thanks, P. J. Cook
Blue and Yellow Still Life With Daisies
Published on 2012-01-26 07:42:00
This 12" by 16" oil painting on linen is a new still life that I am just finishing. Blue and yellow complement each other nicely as you can see in this flower still life. There are many different textures in this painting from the soft teddy bear to the ceramic blue pitcher. For more information on this daisy painting please contact me via email from the About Artist page. Thanks, P.J Cook
"Winter Light" Watercolor Painted as a Demonstration in my Class
Published on 2011-12-17 09:15:00
"Winter Light" The watercolor shown here is a demonstration painting done at one of my recent watercolor classes. This painting is done using a pouring technique and then is finished with direct painting. The students worked along with me step by step while I was painting. Pouring paint is a different approach to watercolor painting and is usually new to people in the class and can be a lot of fun. My next class starts Jan 14 through Feb 18, 2012 at Artisans Harbor in Old Saybrook, CT
