PROJECT LUCIGNANO: ART, LANGUAGE AND FOLKLORE As mother of the Italian language, Tuscany was and still is considered the birthplace of Italian artists of international fame. Not only Dante, Petrarca, Boccaccio, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Vasari but also Giacomo Puccini, Giotto, Botticelli and many other local artists and personalities produced their artistic works here. They still live on in the region's architecture and in our hearts.
