El Al announced an interline agreement with jetBlue to provide connection options for passengers traveling between Israel and the US. From September, El Al passengers will be able to connect to jetBlue’s JFK network and JetBlue passengers will be able to connect onto El Al’s JFK-Tel Aviv service. Take a look a good look at this chart. First note the numbers between 2008 and 2009. In absolute terms there was a huge jump. In 2009 the average was €18.72 - compared to an average of €13.70 in 2008. Note also who is on the list in each year. The list consists of a good blend of legacy and LCCs. After two days at the show, we compiled the table to keep the score. As you can see, over 600 orders so far - much higher than anyone was expecting. Nearly three quarters accounted for by Airbus and Boeing. So far Airbus is ahead of Boeing by quite a good margin. ALC, the new player, accounts for 22% of sales so far - and ILFC is nowhere to be seen. Embraer is getting attention from ALC - as is ATR. SuperJet is having a great show - and we expect news from Irku
