The good side to keeping a tarantula is that you can leave it unfed for an entire month. Hell, some are even known to survive half a year without food! Of course, I would not recommend it as your T would tend to grow a little more trigger-happy than the usual. But if you're the lazy pet owner type with a long history of neglect (and a strong resistance to venom), then a tarantula can easily be your wife! There is only the simple matter of the bait... Today I mourn the death of two strangers: Dr. Gerry Ortega and Ralph J. Buyante. Ralph, a student of my school Xavier University, was on board a jeepney in Tablon when a ten-wheeler truck collided with it head-on. Ralph didn't make it. He was due to graduate from his Nursing course this March. Dr. Gerry was a broadcaster and wildlife veterinarian in Palawan. So setting up a paludarium didn't quite go as planned. Therefore, I shall now be raising -- wait for it -- tarantulas! Yes, tarantulas! Hairy, venomous, two-inch-long-fangs tarantulas! It's a great leap of faith, but as I am currently experiencing a hiatus, I suppose reviving my long lost love with the creepy and the crawly kind will make for a good coping mechanism.
