Rooting the Motorola Cliq XT

Still not update for the Motorola CliqXT, soooo.....I still haven't been able to make much progress in rooting this thing. I tried the method that works for one version of the phone - the Quench. The phone is packaged as the Cliq XT on T-Mobile here in the US, but in Brazil it's called the Quench.This is the program to root it: http://www.taranfx.com/download/instant-root.zipThe only problem is it only works on two know versions of the firmware (and one rumored version): Blur_Version.0.12.196.M

I have spent days trying to find a way to root this phone. Some times I think I am so close, and other days it seems like it will never happen. My latest attempts have been to find scripts and executables that the system is likely to execute as the privileged user and insert a call to telnetd or fire off a shell somewhere.The thing that makes me want it even more is the delay in the update to the firmware that was expected by the end of June.
