Im currently reading Pure by Jennifer Armentrout. So far it's much better then it's predacessor. I like the characters and the idea behind it. I can still draw a lot of parallels between this series and "Vampire Academy" but then I guess if you look hard enough paralells could be seen anywhere. ..

I was born afraid
Of my youthful arrogance
Of illicit tendencies
From what I hear there many things that I should fear
None of which is life.
I would live,
I, who have been blessed with this gift.
So many call it life
I call it my experience.
With youthful exube..
Rules for Writing: No Dreams
02/12/2013 11:29:50 AM
I once heard that a writer should never write a dream.
I am not talking about a dream that inspired a story. Any way that you can get an idea for a story is golden. If you had a dream one night and woke up saying, “That would make a great story!” then write it! The best ideas for ..
Writing About: A Kidnapping
01/22/2013 11:35:56 AM
The prologue of my fourth book is only 259 words long and in those few paragraphs one of my characters is kidnapped.
The key to writing a kidnapping is to make it a surprise to both the character and your reader. Have your character be doing something normal such as feeding their cat, taking ..
Book Review : David Isby - The Decisive Duel: Spitfire vs BF109
01/16/2013 08:52:23 AM
There are plenty of books about Reginald Mitchell's iconic Spitfire and several about the equally legendary BF109. This is the first I know of that covers the history of both.
The Spitfire and BF109 will always be remembered for their battles in the summer of 1940 but there is a little ..

01/13/2013 14:49:23 PM
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what makes a writer better. Certainly, you have to be creative, that’s a given, and you have to love stories and reading. But what is that will make you better? Here’s my answer; time.
What do I mean by that?
With the exception of..
How To Write A Short Story
01/08/2013 13:53:34 PM
Writing a short story is just like writing a novel. You will need an idea that you can lay on a page to blaze into a story. To find this idea, you may need to take a long walk and open your eyes to the world, sit in a park and see the stories unfolding all around you, or take a nap and let your mind..
Contrast Your Imagery to Make Readers Understand the Story
01/04/2013 05:57:19 AM
I’ve been reading “The Kindly Ones” by Jonathan Littell for a couple weeks now (it’s 975 pages!) and every bit of it is filled with contrasting images. From the Ukrainian forests overrun by Nazis, and used to hide the slaughtered “enemies,” to the garish nightl..
How To Rewrite A Book
01/01/2013 10:28:59 AM
There is nothing more devastating than realizing the book you slaved over for months or even years needs to be rewritten. I am not talking about editing a book from beginning to end. I am talking about starting all over again with a blank page and completely rewriting it again from the very first wo..
